One of the best clubs in Serbia for working with young players in the new season enters with great reinforcement. Handball club „New Belgrade“ and his president and founder Nikola Maksimović agreed on long-term cooperation with Akim Komnenić with whom he co-operated for three years in Makabi from Tel Aviv where they had excellent results. In addition to the numerous trophies won, the biggest result is the establishment and installation of a system of work at the school of handball, which will bring to Maccabi many future players from their own ranks.
Club President Nikola Maksimovic expressed great satisfaction with the agreed cooperation:
– New Belgrade just a few years ago was undefeated in Serbian handball by all parameters and I’m sure that with hard work in the short term we will be back where we were. To my satisfaction, I quickly agreed with Akim that with the coaching work we partner the club. The joint forces with the help of all the trainers in RK Novi Beograd will again be a recognizable brand in our handball.
Akim Komnenić is a coach with 16 years of experience, of which the last eight spent in Partizan and three in Maccabi from Tel Aviv, where he left an indelible mark.
– After three years, although I had a valid contract with Makabi for another season, I decided to return to Serbia to my family. Despite the offers I had, as well as the one I expected and did not exist, I accepted the challenging proposal of Nikola Maksimovic for several reasons. First of all, we are great friends and we have great mutual trust and respect. RK Novi Beograd, although it is a young club, has excellent results, tradition and a lot of players behind it, as well as an already developed system of work that only needs to be improved by a good organization and even better professional work, by investing in professional staff. The club has good conditions for work and great potential to develop even more where handball Serbia should give many players, which should be the goal of all of us in handball. I hear many stories of how difficult it is in Serbia and that I did not have to go back. It was hard before, it might be even harder, but we just have to work with what we have and give our maximum, but only with work we can achieve good results. I had a great privilege to work in clubs where literally family relations and everything we did worked, we did heart, honest attitude, desire and great motive. I have no doubt that this will be the case in New Belgrade where we will all return the old glory of the club and together we will start some new victories!
Akim Komnenic entered a club club where he was appointed as the sports director of the club and will be the head of the expert staff where he will lead seniors and cadets of New Belgrade. The contract was signed in 4 seasons.
Prior to the signing of partnership cooperation, Maksimović and Komnenić made a joint project that is reflected in a lot of activities, some of which are quite new in our area. There is no doubt that the return of experts such as Komnenić is a big plus for RK Novi Beograd, and above all for Serbian handball.
