Metalurg has started preparations for the new season, led by Serbian coach Damir Stojanovic, who will also have conditioning expert Mark Sesum in the headquarters. The Skopje team will not play in the EHF Champions League after nine years and after losing second place in MKD handball in the race with Eurofarm, but the motive is over.
I am fortunate to have come to a club with a rich history and tradition. I’m coming to do something new and get back to the old tracks, the SEHA League and the Champions League. For me, it’s a huge challenge. This year we will do our best to surprise Eurofarm and get back to where we need to be – Stojanovic said on the call and added:
You never get what you want, but we’ll do our best to get the most out of these young guys. We may be stepping up on the left back, but we will not rush but if the opportunity arises. It is good that in the EHF Cup we start from the third round, because we will have time to establish the system – Stojanovic concluded.
