An interesting statement was made by Slovenian national team coach Veselin Vujovic, Slovenian SIOL in connection ambition at the upcoming European Championships in Poland. Despite the defeat of Germany in the duel for first place in the Super Cup earlier this month, an experienced coach does not leave the optimistic before the tournament in January:
When we finished the tournament in Germany, at a meeting with the players I said, if you think about Slovenia as a team for the placement of the sixth to tenth place, I’m not going to Poland. My desire is to play for a medal. For all who do not intend to go to the medal, it is better not to play for the national team – said Vujovic.
Representation Slovenia best performance in history was achieved with Tone Tiseljom at Euro 2004 in Ljubljana when it was silver.
