The national team of Serbia achieved the goal of placement in the second round of the European Championship in Croatia. The overall impression, it is clear, „Eagles“ are far from the European top at the moment, so despite the 12th place, the sports public is dissatisfied with the performance. The handball legend from this area, Veselin Vujovic, spoke on the current issue of Radio Talasanje Radio Belgrade and said that he did not expect anything to change:
– We have thousands of trainers in Serbia, we have people who „know everything“ and when you see a club that leads a terner with a master’s degree, because it is now very important and modern, that someone is listening to a module and listening to someone from the EHF, which has nothing to do with life and gets that diploma, and then go to watch his training, where kids of 16 years with 115 kilograms play only two goals. Nor does something work, it improves, nothing. At the end of the month, membership fees are charged to those children, and that is the future of the Serbian handball – said Vujovic and concluded:
I guarantee you, nothing will change, no one will move and nothing will happen. There will remain mud as it is, the people will remain. Selector Jovica Cvetkovic gave a statement that he was pleased with the result and achieved. Somebody told him what the goals of repre- sentation are in Croatia, and if this goal is placing in the second round, then everything is done.
Bee a Serbian selector is a punishment
– You come into something that is so soiled, soiled, that you can not wash it. The smart one waits for that mud to dry up, and then he compiles it. No one is more aware of the criteria for being a selector. Becoming a selector with us at this time is more punishment than honor and privilege. We do not have a goal, we do not have a strategy, we have no confidence. In the handball we do not have anyone for whom we can connect, to say that this is the person who will pull us, which will make some kind of improvement. We have come to a situation in which I personally do not see the way out. I think 10 years of working on our handball is a bit so that we can do something – says Veselin Vujovic.
