„Technical Course for Coaches – Olympic Solidarity“ Completed

In the period from 30.10. until 04.11. In 2017, in Kucevo, a training seminar was held titled Technical Course for Trainers Olympic Solidarity.

In the organization of the Handball Federation of Serbia, the Olympic Committee of Serbia, the International Olympic Committee and the International Handball Federation, 23 trainers from all over Serbia during six days studied and worked with Czech experts, IHF and EHF lecturers, as well as professor at the University of Prague, Martin Tuma .

It is interesting to note that this kind of course in Serbia was held for the second time in a row (prior to 2016 in Kragujevac), also organized by the Handball Federation of Serbia, and that handball was the only sport that twice repeatedly had the opportunity to be the topic of the Olympic Seminar solidarity in Serbia. The seminar was completely free for all participants.

RSS understands the importance of trainer education

During six days at the hotel „Rudnik“ in Kučevo and the sports hall of the Elementary School, lecturer Martin Tuma, he had the opportunity to personally see the quality of the Serbian trainers and the level of organization of the Handball Federation of Serbia.

– I have to point out that, as a participant in the Top Coaches Seminar 2012 in Belgrade, whose organization was rated as top-level by all participants and heads of the EHF, I knew at what level it was the organization of professional seminars in Serbia. Therefore, from the beginning, I had high expectations, and I am pleased that these expectations with this seminar are justified and greatly exceeded. I would especially like to point out the great effort and knowledge that the seminar was being prepared by my associate on this course, Zoran Lazarević, with whom it was a pleasure to cooperate.

Also, the great importance that the Serbian Handball Federation attaches to its trainers is evident. Your Alliance understands the importance of their education, started by Tuma, who since 2006 worked as an IHF lecturer.

According to the program of work, during the six days of the duration of the course, the participants dealt with four topics per day. The afternoon concerned the acquisition and improvement of theoretical knowledge, while the afternoon was intended for practical representations of topics from all areas of handball. On the last day, a knowledge test was organized, while on the last day of the course, the ceremonial ceremony of awarding the awards and certificates IHF and OKS was organized.

In addition to the high level of knowledge of the trainer, Tuma was especially impressed by their interaction and enthusiasm for new knowledge, which he particularly noted in his report IHF.

– I am very glad that I had the opportunity to exchange experiences with my colleagues from Serbia, and to learn something from them. In this regard, I am satisfied with the level of interaction in lectures, questions, as well as the responses of the participants. I’m glad that throughout the seminars we held a progressive level of work and that modern handball tendencies were in focus, „Tuma said.

However, what I especially need to distinguish is the fact that the trainers were at the same time the demonstrators, which gave me special excitement for my practical lectures. For such a thing, a great deal of understanding and patience was needed, because the level of physical training of all the trainers, of course, was not uniform. However, in this way, they could first feel the effects of exercises and their use in their own training, Tuma said.

Never stop working on your own.

Tuma brought many good memories from Serbia, as well as a very positive picture of the level of organization and quality of work with coaches in Serbia, which he will gladly share with his foreign counterparts.

During the lecture, the Czech expert conveyed a lot of knowledge and advice to the trainers, however, he left several of them at the end.

– The most important thing is to constantly learn and develop. Talk, share ideas and experiences, never stop working on yourself. In this way, you also work on the development of handball as a sport. When you finish your lecture, module or seminar, your learning does not end there. Always have to look for ways to get new insights. The seminar is just a step on your handball, Tuma concluded.
