Roundtable: „Modern approaches to work with younger categories of handball “

Faculty of Sports continues the practice of organizing expert meetings for the purpose of continuous development of the sport. In the Faculty, this time, there was a round table discussion on „Contemporary approaches to work with younger categories of handball “

The roundtable was moderated by Bojan Butulija, a professional handball player and the student in the fourth year of faculty, whose topic of thesis deals with the issue of the title with the help of Dragan Djukic who was the moderator of the previous two.

About this inexhaustible and always current topic talked distinguished experts, professors Milorad Djukic, from the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education, University of Novi Sad, and Zoran Valdevit with the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education, University of Belgrade, and Mrs. Lidija Bojic Cacic, a member of the Executive Board of EHF, i already mentioned Dragan Djukic one of the creators of the camp „Handball for all“ and coach of numerous teams and national teams.

At the beginning of the open topic, and as one of the key problems in working with younger categories singled out the lack of adequate training technology for the younger generations, as well as the lack of expert advice within the Handball Association of Serbia, which would define the objectives and concept of the training process and directed the work of coaches .

– We see that our Handball Association has long functioned without professional advice. The role of the council is not to read izvaštaj selectors and assessment work as good or bad. Expert advice is needed to give us the guidelines what to do next and how to do, how to improve the profession, how to improve the game. I think in terms of a healing we may already be late to the year 2004. Expert advice is the one who has to choose people who will do this job properly – said Zoran Valdevit.

Ms. Bojic Cacic pointed out that in the world there is a declining trend in the number of children involved in organized sports in general, not just handball.

– This is not a problem only for us in the region, but it was a global trend. Research shows that the percentage of children who are involved in sports clubs fell by 15 percent. One of the ways that we use in Croatia, to persuade children to deal with eating mini handball handball. He is not an end in itself, but a way to keep the kids in handball and „steal“ them from other sports – said Ms. Bojic added.

Conclusion is unique, that such meetings necessary and that they should be more frequently practiced since only continuous education, exchange of knowledge and experience, continuously improving professional work we can return to the path of a successful Serbian handball.

Complete ‘Round Table’ was accompanied with the presence of many coaches, students and others. He was also provided, and a LIVE STREAM footage can be viewed via the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1Ja46dzcHI
