News from Israel

The entire season has been reduced to less than two months in which there is a struggle for trophies and survival. The most interesting is of course in the First League. Nikola Maksimovic has a great season behind him and a chance to go to the final and the title fight with his Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Maccabi Tel Aviv ended the league part of the season in second place and in the 1/4 finals of the play win Hapoel Azdod and go to  the semifinals where he expected the matches with Rehovot. While in the second semifinal match, Maccabi Rishon and Hapoel Rishon meet. So, already in the first season in the role of the head coach of Maccabi Tel Aviv Maksimovic has already recorded a great result, but as he himself always goes to the highest goal.

In the fight for survival in the first league, experienced expert Nedeljko Nele Matic pulled the maximum from the team Maccabi Motzkin in addition to all the difficulties he had during the season managed to secure a place leading to the barrage of matches with the second division team in which the winner survives in the highest leauge of the competition. What is interesting is that two Serbian coaches met in this barrage. Matic and his Motzkin defeated Dimon in the first encounter. Dimona, led by another young expert from Serbia, Vukojevic Andreja has achieved another historic success. After entering the second league immediately after the first season, survival was secured and even high third place and the barrage of the match and the fight to enter the highest rank.

Another young expert who is still player-coach of this season, Veljko Milosevic has managed to secure the barrage of a game of survival in the highest ranking with his NessTziona. In the first match, Petah Tikva was defeated and the first step towards achieving the goal was made – survival in the elite.

As far as Israel’s younger categories are concerned, also everything has been reduced to two months. Milos Simic (Ramat Hasharon) and Veljko Milosevic (NessTziona) met in the junior elite leagues. The victory was taken by Milosevic and secured the survival of the junior elite.

Juniors of Maccabi Tel Aviv led by Akim Kommenic after many troubles during the season managed to qualify in the play off and the fight for the title. In the 1/4 finals they meet with Rehovot, while on the other hand Croatian expert Hrvoje Pazin finished with Maccabi Rishono in the first place in the junior league and is one of the candidates for the trophy.

Young competitors with Serbian trainers are very successful. Milos Simic with the generation of players born in 2005 is struggling for the first trophy while his younger colleague, Petar Komnenic with the same edge  of Maccabi Tel Aviv, recorded good results in his first season in Israel. Nikola Maksimovic with his trophy generation of boys born in 2004 Maccabi Tel Aviv in the fight for both trophies this season (CUP and Titles).

Since the beginning of the season, several Serbian experts started working with young Israel teams, but they were unable to continue due to sports laws. Vukojevic Andreja and Simic Milos worked on camps with boys in 2004 and 2005. Akim Komnenic worked with the girls of the U16 national team and Nikola Maksimovic with the boys U16 where he finished his work with the participation in the international tournament in Greece, Virilitos where he won the 3rd place defeating team of Greece.

Aleksandar Brkovic, coach of the junior team of Israel, is preparing for the upcoming European Championship held in Celje in July this year. At the end of May with the team goes to prepare in Germany. Interesting fact is that Israel is in group with Serbia and they play the first game in the group.
