The Serbian expert has presented his observations and facts during the World Championship in Denmark and Germany.
How satisfied are you with the previous results of Hungary?
– We came with the goal of plagiarizing in the first 7, 8 teams that would lead us to qualifying for the Olympics. We’re close, we’re not far off. A bit of us have disturbed the unhappy outcome with Egypt, but we are well on our way and we are well on the road to fulfilling our goal.
What’s new at this tournament compared to the previous years?
– New? They joined the European Union in the fight for the second round of the competition and succeeded. Egypt, Tunisia, Brazil … Handball has become a global sport. Tactics I have not noticed for now nothing new, at least for this part I spent in Denmark and followed. There are a lot of rules, more and more games are played with as few contacts as possible, it’s easy to share exclusions in the past.
Results of Macedonia and Serbia?
– Maybe I expected more from Macedonia, but we have to consider that they had a strong group. Serbia? I did not expect anything better, but a new team was being built. Without two, three strong clubs in Serbia that will at least play in the group phase of the EHF competition, there will be no better results. If at least 1 or 2 million euros are not invested in the club’s annual budget and that they play international cups, especially for the Champions League, more and more, there will be no progress. Slovenia has Celje, Velenje, Croatia Zagreb and Nexe, Macedonia Vardar, Metalurg and Rabotnik. And who do we have? Zeleznicar, Vojvodina, Metaloplastics? Unfortunately, this is not the level for the EHF CUP. That’s it, until this is done if there is anything to be done there is no movement.
Your favorite for the semifinals?
– Denmark, France, Sweden and Germany.
World champion title winner?
– France or Denmark are always at the top, have a continuity, a system and know how to win gold medals!
