Macedonian handball coaches have announced that they will soon form a union of coaches who will fight for their rights and work on their protection in clubs in the country. This was announced at a coaching seminar held in Ohrid.
The first information was given to all coaches, but the realization of the project remains that by the end of the year, handball coaches will gather again and form a union and define their goals.
The union does not only mean supporting coaches, fighting for their rights and better working conditions and being valued as professionals. Coaches have seminars before the start of each season to renew their licenses so they can lead the club to one of the leagues. More than 150 trainers were present at the seminar. Currently, the clubs employ coaches who are only the most needed. Many coaches still do not have health insurance or have a regulated contract. Some do not even receive a regular salary. Currently, the Association of Handball Coaches is failing to fight for the rights of coaches, and the formation of a union will mean the first serious organization.
