For the first time in the history of handball EHF Cups, the Electronic Time-Out will be implemented. The new system will be applied first in the final tournament of the F4 Champions League for women that is held in Budapest 12/13. May, then at the EHF CUP final in Magdeburg (May 19/20) and the F4 Champions League for Men in Cologne (May 26/27).
This novelty gives trainers the ability to request a time-out by pressing the siren on an electronic device that will be on the desk instead of a well-known green card.
However, if the siren is pressed when the ball in the possession of the opposing team follows the penalty for the violation of the rules:
-
- A progressive sentence for an official person who requested a timing
- Seven meter for the opposing team that had the ball in possession
- The team that requested the wrong time out loses theright to a one time-out
If a timeout is requested at the moment when the opponents in a clear chance of reaching the goal are punished
-
- Red and blue card for the official face that requested the timeout
- Seven meter for the opposing team that had the ball in possession
- The team that has been blocking the wrong timing out loses the right to a timing-out
Made the controversial situation at last year’s Final4 for women when the delegate of Jutte Erman Wolfe literally pulled a green card from Eduard Koksarov who led Vardar. The coincidence is that Utah Erman Wolf will be at the Final 4 in Budapest this year and will be a delegate at the semi-finals Vardar – Rostov Don.
