In Belgrade, at the age of 78 died legendary handball coach, former selector of male and female national team of Yugoslavia Professor Jezdimir Stankovic.
Coaching career began with 19.godina and in the dual role as founder of the women’s handball team BSK and trener.Kao as champions of Yugoslavia in 1961, then the team KSF now with a new name ORK Belgrade played the final of the Champions Cup-European countries . In the long coaching path Rilke Bojana Stankovic successfully led teams in the men’s competition Metaloplastika in Sabac with whom he won the Yugoslav Cup in 1980 and the Cup-Winners’ Cup in the semi-finals losing to Rostock. Then he led Crystal from Zajecar, Crvena Zvezda and Partizan Belgrade.
With his teams won de championship (BSK and RK Vozdovac), seven CUP’s Yugoslavia (six with ORK Belgrade and one with METALOPLASTIKA)
Legal Dictionary Stankovic was the first selector and coach of the national team of the University of Belgrade.
In reprezentatvnim selections Yugoslavia had a significant role in both competitions. In the period from 1968 to 1975 he headed the women’s national team of Yugoslavia. At the World Championships in 1973 was j Eclan coaching staff feminine Yugoslav national team that won the gold medal. Male senior national team of Yugoslavia led in two periods, from 1978 to 1980 and later from 1989 to 1995. At the Olympic Games in Moscow took the sixth place, two gold medals at the Mediterranean Games in 1979 and 1991 as well as the gold medal at the Balkan Games in 1979 in Varazdin. 212 times he led the senior national teams of Yugoslavia in both competitions.
