The management of Winterthur sees a better future for 37-year-old Cvetković on the bench. The Serb is Bringer’s first assistant since 2015, and he previously played for this club on two occasions. Cvetković joined the Swiss team in 2005 from the Red Star (he previously played for PKB), two years later he went to Bern where he spent six seasons, and then returned to Winterthur where he finished his playing career and started his coaching career.
In addition to the role of Bringer’s first assistant, the former right back also performed the function of sports director, and he will become the head of the professional staff in June 2021.
-Cvetković is a coach with an A license who has gained enough experience as an assistant. He lives with his family in our region, knows the club and the environment very well, has a great connection with players, especially younger ones, and good international contacts that could be helpful in the future – the club announced on the occasion of appointing a Serbian coach.
Winterthur has won nine Swiss championship titles, but has been waiting for the jubilee since 2004.
