In the premises of the Serbian Handball Federation held a press conference of the senior national team of Serbia before the European Championship in Poland, which starts on 15 January. The representatives of the „fourth estate“ is first addressed selector Dejan Peric:
– I am satisfied with the response and all that was done in three stages of preparation. What was planned was specific, we tried in training and matches. We know where we’re going, what kind of group and opponents have, but we are also aware of their own quality and healthy as a group eager to prove we want to play against anyone. Wins are building from a good defense, running, while the attacking individual quality we want to put into the collective. Praise guys, all contribute to more easily adopt whatever a team needs to know in defense and attack. I want to be collective, on and off the court, who knows where he’s going, in what direction and why – Peric said, adding:
– There is a motive and malice, a desire to compete with the best. For all the matches we give our best. I promise that the national team will play with a lot of heart and motives and their country. It will be from the first to the last. The knowledge we have, I believe we are going to show you.
About the first rival at Euro 2016 – Polish selection.
– Is there anything more beautiful than to open a competition against the hosts, against all? Sixteen players and coaching staff will play all against all. Do you have more challenge and privilege for an athlete? We have our goal, no surrender. It is a celebration of rugby and so should be interpreted.
France will be another rival Serbia in EURO 2016 …
– The French raised the bar for the last 15 years. They set some parameters that will over time be difficult to overcome. I admit im fine, but no less valuable. No surrender before the start or overestimation of the first two rivals. Anyway, the last match is played in the next round. I believe in these guys, I chose them. I’m proud to lead such a team, I go first, and they follow me. We have an obligation to the generations to come, that handball lasts and it will be after us. That’s my mission
