Coach of the National Team of Serbia, Radan Rovcanin: We are creating a base for the future!

The Women’s Kadetska reprezentacija Srbije finished the first stage of the preparations for the European Championship, which will be held in August 2000 in the Slovak city of Mihalovce. Girls waiting for a debut on the international scene in a month were working under the watchful eye of the full professional staff of the national team, selector Ljubomir Obradovic, coordinator of the representative selection, Živojin Maksić and goalkeeper Dragica Đurić, led by coach Radovan Rovčanin and assistant Marko Krstić.

– We are extremely satisfied with the work done in this first part. The girls did everything in their best. Their attitude, behavior and commitment are for every compliment, so we hope that we will do what we strive for the European Championship. The priority is that from these girls we create the future of Serbian handball, so without pressure and pressure we are going to the first big competition. We will do our best to upgrade their talent in the upcoming period and create a nice base for representation.

Is there a strongest bandwidth or some injuries?

– There is everything that is the best quality at this time, but the injury to us is Tijana Stamatovic, who has a perspective for the A selection. This is currently the best, but if there is any doubt, we will solve them on the go. The national team is always open to everyone.

The rivals on the EP are the selection of Norway, Spain and the host of Slovakia.

– The group is very demanding and strong. We’ll play from match to match, so prepare. We can not estimate where we are at this time. We will do our best.

A full-time professional staff led by selector Ljubomir Obradovic was present at the training hall at the Institute of Sport at Kosutnjak.

– You saw it yourself, that’s of great importance. The selector and members of the expert staff are with us every day, a complete pyramid. Such attention imparts both to girls, and to us coaches.

Cadets are still waiting a lot of work to leave in Slovakia.

– We will be seven days from Monday in Kragujevac, and after that we will be waiting for a stay in the camp in Karatas. We will play two friendly games with Montenegrins, and after Karatas and two with Croats away, while we will spend a few days before the Championship in Serbia, most probably in Backa Palanka – concluded Radan Rovcanin.
