The preparations for the new competition season are approaching, in the camp of Dubocica 54, which will play in Group A of the Arcus League, you are slowly growing impatient. - It is good that we saved the team from the previous season. Due to private obligations, only Ilija Stanković will be absent. It is even more important that we have completed the agreements on the engagement of Marko Radulović, Miljanje Erić, Vladica Ristić, and Luka Radović. I would not like to exaggerate with optimism, but I am convinced that now we can bring out a team that will instill greater trust in our sympathizers, explains Pejčić, who is carefully looking for at least two more reinforcements.
At the roll call scheduled for August 3, they will not be disappointed whether all obligations are fulfilled towards everyone in the club, despite the situation caused by the coronavirus.
- In times of epidemic, our first concern is the desire for all handball players to come to us healthy. Where we will train. When we will enter the hall will depend on the measures that the state authorities will take in the fight against the coronavirus. You know that the beginning of September 19 has been announced. We have continued to tighten measures, I am afraid that this term cannot be respected. However, I am optimistic and I do not want to make further predictions about whether the championship will be played with or without an audience. Let’s look at the sports perspective with optimism. A new championship, a new model of competition, the two best clubs, Vojvodina and Metaloplastika, are returning to the league from the beginning.
What requirements should the management of the club set before the professional staff and what is realistic to predict?
- In group A, along with us and Partizan, there are as many as six clubs from Vojvodina, with the champion Vojvodina at the helm. I expect that in the first phase of the group competition we will be placed among the first four best teams and then we will play in the playoffs in the spring. In the last, forcibly interrupted championship, we were fifth. With the previous but also expected reinforcements, I believe that we can do more and better. Just to stop this pain around the coronavirus, so that we can play with the support of a full hall, show and confirm that handball is the leading sport in Leskovac. We will succeed if we all together take care and protect our health, and we properly fulfill the requirements of the health profession and our surroundings.
