Bojana Popović is the new coach of Buducnost

Legend of Buducnost and world handball Bojana Popovic is the new coach of the Women’s Handball Club Buducnost. The Board of Directors of ZRK Buducnost made the decision that Bojana Popovic will succeed the most successful coach in the history of the club, Dragan Adzic, who was the first associate in the professional staff, and who resigned after the defeat by Djero in the last match in the Champions League.

It will be the first independent club coaching challenge for Bojana Popović, according to handball experts, one of the best players on the planet in the last two decades, who was the selector of the Montenegrin women’s cadet national team at the 2018 World Cup in Poland.

Bojana Popović was recently appointed the first associate of the new selector of the Montenegrin national team, Kim Rasmussen, and she will be part of the professional staff at the upcoming European Championship in Denmark.

In her playing career, she won the Champions League trophy six times (with the Buducnost team in 2012 and 2015), and she also has a silver medal with the Montenegrin national team at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.

The Board of Directors of ŽRK Budućnost previously adopted the resignation of the current coach Dragan Adžić, who has been on the bench of the „blues“ since January 2010.

During Adzic’s era, Buducnost achieved the greatest successes in the club’s history and won two Champions League trophies (2012 and 2015), and the title of Cup Winners’ Cup winner in 2010. The „Blues“ also won seven trophies in the Regional League.

„ŽRK Budućnost expresses its gratitude to Adžić for the exceptional dedication and great results he has achieved with the club in the past decade, with best wishes on a personal and professional level in the future.“
