The young expert Miloš Čučković from Belgrade, in charge of working with goalkeepers in the Swiss HSC Suhr Arau, has been recording great results for the second season.
Since Cuckovic came to the position of goalkeeper coach, HSC Suhr Arauu has been receiving fewer and fewer goals. The team received 25.69 goals in the 2018/19 season. After the arrival of the 37-year-old expert, this value dropped to 23.56 in the 2019/20 season, which was shortened due to the crown, and this season, after 13 championship games, 21.00 goals. Suhr Aarau has conceded almost five fewer goals since taking care of the goalkeepers – per game.
Although I do detailed statistics in many areas, I was not aware of that, says Cuckovic when asked about the almost incredible value and adds: But of course it is great. However, the following applies: We always want to be better. If the value is now 21 goals per game, then in the future the goal will be 20 or 19 – and so on, of course with a good defense of the team.
In an interview for the Swiss media, Cuckovic answered questions fluently in German, although he did not speak a single word of German until February 2019.
It was not easy, but the motivation was huge. In the end, language is very important if you want to start a new business with quality, says Cuckovic.
His wife Tamara and their children Tara and Luka have been living in Suhr since the beginning of this year. The seven-year-old daughter started school, and she manages perfectly in Switzerland, the two-year-old son pronounces the entire HSC line-up on the orders of his father.
We feel very comfortable in Suhr, points out Cuckovic, who lives with his family in an apartment just below his former Red Star colleague Dragan Marjanc and his family. Marjanac (35), together with Dario Ferante (27) and currently injured talent Leo Gracioli (19), make up the goalkeeper trio of HSC, which Cuckovic is training for even better results.
Goalkeepers Dragan Marjanac and Dario Ferante conceded just 13 goals 10 days ago – less than any other NLA team in the season so far. In addition to outstanding goalkeeping performances – both Marjanac and Ferrante had a defense rate of 60%.
Excellent goalkeeping performances did not leave indifferent Mišo Kaufman, the first coach of HSC:
They are incredibly important in this sport. Milos left a big mark in working with our goalkeepers. It works great and far exceeded my expectations
Čučković is currently proving the huge potential of his work in HSC. So it seems to be a matter of time before people find out elsewhere. Nearly five goals saved per game are definitely an argument.
