The second round of the Arcus League of Serbia brought a lot of uncertainty. Metaloplastika and Zeleznicar played a draw, as did Vojvodina and Dinamo. Kikinda, led by the new coach Aleksandar Savić, failed to record its first victory. Zikica Milosavljevic scored the first points with his Red Star, while the experienced Ajdacic took the points at the spa away from the visiting team of Obilic.
We have shown both of us that we are serious candidates for the playoffs and I hope that we will continue on the same path, said Veselin Vukovic.
- It was a good game, a sports fight, in the end a little luck was on our side. We had a lot of problems the previous week with several back injuries. Not serious though, but I didn’t even introduce some to the game. Of course, that does not diminish the excellent game of Zeleznicar and the deserved point won.
The team of Zeleznicar, led by Djordjet Teodorovic, had a shot on an empty goal in the last seconds, but they did not succeed.
- The draw is the most realistic, it would be unfair if it ended with the victory of any team. We and Metaloplastika had our periods. Our last time he didn’t enter the goal, but is that just right after everything. It would be incorrect after all. The boys burned out. It is evident that Metalopalstika is getting better and more coordinated. They have a new lineup that needs time. It can be seen that there will be a hot field for everyone in Šabac, so for us this won point is very big. I would praise my players, we had a phenomenal preparation for the match. We arrived in Sabac the day before, we made an extraordinary relationship and the chemistry that resulted in us fighting to the last whistle. It was a little lacking, but I am also satisfied with the point, concluded the head of the Zeleznicar profession
After a convincing defeat by Partizan at the start of the championship (27:15), Kikinda decided to change the coach and bring the experienced Aleksandar Savić to the position of chief of the professional staff. Igor Mršulja and Veljko Milošević also arrived at the club, but even that did not help to avoid defeat by the excellent Dubocica in the second round.
That is why it will be very important for Kikinda to move from the dead point in the next two rounds in which they play with Spartak and Crvenka.
When it comes to the situation in which he is taking over the club, Savić pointed out that he is aware of everything, the situation in which Kikinda is, the situation with the playing staff, but also all the problems that the corona virus creates for the whole world.
- I’m aware of everything. And when it comes to an empty hall, I first know that the audience in Kikinda was always great and carried the team. My expectations are that we go from game to game. I am here briefly so that I can say something more specific or give a better overview. The situation is specific, we have to take points from the games that follow us – Spartak and Crvenka. At this moment, no one can say for sure who will end up in which place. It will be a serious fight – says the new coach of Kikinda.
