NIKOLA MAKSIMOVIC LEFT THE HOLY LAND AFTER SIX YEARS!

Serbian expert Nikola Maksimovic left Israel after six years, where he worked for the first five years in Maccabi Tel Aviv and then in Ramat Hasharon, and worked with the Israeli cadet national team.

Maksimović said goodbye in an appropriate way to the Holy Land, where he experienced many handball successes.

  • Everything passed quickly, probably because it was successful. Six beautiful years in Israel are behind me and my family. Professionally, it could always be better and more successful. I strive for that, but probably those successes also contributed to us staying that long, points out Maksimović, the founder of HC New Belgrade.

The young expert could not help but remember that he arrived in Israel at the invitation of Dragan Djukic, who was the coach of Israel at the time, who opened the door to many Serbian coaches in this country. Maksimović directly cooperated with Djukic in Maccabi Tel Aviv, where he also managed the handball school.

  • I have to thank Dragan who recommended me and then the two people who brought me to Maccabi, after long negotiations, Raanan Sobel and Avi Resh. Five unforgettable seasons in the club followed, where I participated in all segments of work and we achieved a lot together, sums up Maksimović

He spent his last season in the Holy Land at Ramat Hasharon and it was a hard and great experience.

  • It is a club with the greatest potential, we all learned a lot in those year. I am leaving Israel with a lot of training and life experience. All the players I worked with will remain in my fond memories, I hope I helped many of them.

In Israel, the biggest support was family, wife and sons.

  • In the spring, the adults Vuk and Lav grew up, finished the first and second grade of primary school, and perfected the Hebrew language. , now a challenging summer awaits us to repeat the Serbian language. We made many friends, not only from handball. Ivan’s wife has certainly borne the greatest burden in these six years. Now that we are returning home, our feelings are a bit mixed, whether we are leaving our other home, but as they say, every end is a new beginning, concluded Nikola Maksimović
