I accept criticism, this result is a failure

Nenad Perunicic, after eliminating in the first phase of the World Championship in Berlin, said he was disappointed that the team did not go any further, but that he believed in a better future because he had the potential.

Serbia defeated Germany 31:23 to finish the first round of the tournament with three points and now it has a fight for the placement from 17 to 20.

– As I said before the tournament, it is a disappointment for me that we are not in the second round, although it is clear in what group we were. Everyone is aware that we have shown something, but we have repeated old sicknesses. We have somewhat changed the mental structure, however much you have to make the difference between the game and the game. Against Germany we did not surrender, I congratulate the guys – said Perunicic.

He added that he had too little time to play the team out of such a big and important competition, but to accept responsibility.

– I always ask for the reasons for the defeat, the fact is that we had some training together. There was little time to do all I wanted, even though we played a fierce defense. The result is a failure, for me, no matter how much they talk about time. We played against the superpower, in a lot of segments we were close and I think that we will be competitive sooner everyone.

Perunicic acknowledges that he accepts criticism on his account and that he „stands above everything that has been done“.

The next goal is, as he points out, 17th place and two wins in the next as many matches.

– We came to play as long as we need a match. I do not like our mentality to choose things in advance, I look at everything differently, and victories are imperative to the end. The players worked great, disciplined, behaved responsibly and, despite being consumed, we „tapped“ to the end – concluded the Serbian selector.

Serbian handball players play against Bahrain from 18:00 tomorrow and in the second match of the „Cup Cup“ meet Austria and Argentina.
