After a defeat by Brazil (24:22), selector Nenad Perunicic, struck by his players who did not show a sufficiently strong mental set.
– I do not even know what I would say. I am amused by the mental blockade, as if they did not believe enough and that I did not prepare them well enough. The fact that we have over 30 technical errors in two games is too much. It’s not possible to trust me more from the bench than those on the court. I can not blame all the players, is my responsibility the biggest and I did not give up on these guys. No excuse for the debutants will be required, when they are here, then they are the best in their country. They have to wonder why they have no important roles and a longer minute in their clubs, and there is a problem in the team where they have to make important decisions and take responsibility. My goal is to try to change that barrier to not give up, to fight it all the way, and we have shown it by returning from the minus patr of the road.
I think that we are very motivated, and the heart carries them but in the games we enter only physically and we see some certain fear in the eyes. I think that my greatest responsibility and guilt is that I have picked the players and I stand behind everything.
Korea is the next opponent?
– We did not come for Brazil, we came to Germany because of the whole tournament. If we try to do some things, if our head is that the end of the world against Korea, we will come out lethargic but simply, this is a chance to prove the guys why they are here but on the other side have the width of the base, somebody else will then enter the national team tomorrow. The court is the only measure and it’s raw!
