Serbia’s coach Nenad Perunicic said that it is difficult to say with what ambitions his team is traveling to the SP, that expectations and reality differ, but he pointed out that the team will surely want to show the best person in each match
– Expectations and reality are different. If we are about reality, this is a very young team. It will take time, there are many newcomers. We always have ambitions from the bench, but we will see how the guys in the field will bring out the specific pressure that plays the game for the national team. A lot of them did not have this experience. Reality is different from what we want. We want the best to play each match at 200% and show the best face. Only this way we can match serious representations. In any case, we will not respect anyone in the field – said Perunicic, the Handball Federation of Serbia reports.
The handball players of Serbia are starting their final preparations for the World Championship starting on January 10 in Germany and Denmark. Serbia will play in Group A with France, Russia, Germany, Brazil and the united team of South and North Korea.
France and Germany are ranked as favorites in the paper, and asked whether the reality is to search for points in matches against Russia, Brazil and Korea, Peruničić said he did not want to „talk at that level“.
– Always in the media, „who is that adversary,“ I’ve been pushing, and I’ve never thought or done so. Sportically, we look at everyone in the same way, whoever is on the road and as far as we may be inferior at this time. We are all serious rivals at the moment, and we will prepare from the first to the last one the same and approach the same way – he said.
The first part of the final preparations of the handball players of Serbia will be held at the center of the Serbian Football Association in Stara Pazova. The expert staff has already met, while the official gathering is scheduled for 19 hours.
– The expert staff gathered somewhat earlier. We expect players from 19 hours. I expect everyone to come alongside the guys who play in Germany (Bogdan Radivojević, Mijailo Marsenić, Nemanja Zelenović and Miljan Pušica) that will join on January 1st. We’ll see if something has happened in the meantime, whether someone can not show up. The only questionable situation is with Darko Djukic – said Perunicic.
The handball players of Serbia are expected to work twice a day until the next weekend when they follow friendly checks with Tunisia.
– It would be most beautiful that we are all here, but the national championships end up differently. So, as it is, we will work twice a day, fitness trainer Ivan Tomasevic will work on prevention and recovery because there is no time for basic preparation. I wish we were able to do it, but we are adapting to the situation. We will have a closed match match with Tunisia on December 29th, and the next day we will play in Smederevo with the same rival, thus ending the year – said Perunicic.
Following the matches with Tunisia, Nenad Perunicic’s team is expecting two checks against Macedonia on January 4 and 5.
The handball players of Serbia will start the World Championship on January 11 with a game against Russia.
