It was the sensation of the round, as one of the big favourites for the title and one of the regular guests of the VELUX EHF Final4 in the Champions League missed the quarterfinal. Skjern Handbold defended the seven-goal lead from leg one in Veszprem. Skjern celebrated, they are the first Danish side to reach the quarter-finals since 2012. Veszprém will miss the Final4 for the first time since the 2012/13 season.

– The problem was the game in Skjern. Everybody knows what happened there and everybody saw this game. We played okay second game, we were under pressure a bit. We tried to do everything to clear our deficit but we did not manage it. Congratulations for Skjern for the quarter-finals, said Ljubomir Vranjes.
I am the coach, so I am responsible for this. It is my mistake that we could not go to the next round, but I am not a quitter. I will fight in the next games. I can understand that a lot of people are mad or sad. We all are. Blaming others, or any players is no way. I take the responsibility of course. We are a team and a team is together. I am sorry that the Champions League is over for us. This is not worthy for Veszprém, Vranjes closed.
