New-old Croatian national team coach, Zeljko Babic, published a list of the EHF week in which the fifth team for the Olympic Games in Rio will gather in Umag from 31 October to 06 November.
Zeljko Babic at the beginning of the press conference explained his current function:
– It is important to point out that I love Croatia and immense honor to be national coach. Entertainment and Alliance are in front of my character and my attitudes. I am aware of what I said and I had a reason, but if people from HRS think I can still help then it is my moral obligation to help in any way I can regardless of what I said. For me this is a great message to the players and in the context that all sin. We’re not all right every time, although this time we think it is right that we have made. I did it with a clear conscience because I then thought that did not help. I’m not a selector. If the top people think I’m still a good solution I will answer you, and I will be a selector because we had to orders. Today I’m not a selector until the Management Board does not adopt the decision. Needless to talk about the plans except the list of players that we have made in agreement with Ivan Balic.
During the preparations, we announced that we would like to ask this and that we will introduce four or five new players. New names and players who are not on the list may be called upon in the future. Due to expansion and refresh the team this is a great opportunity to show what they are to us and how can we have a wider player base. At one point we came to the fact that the selection is weak, but this is not true and this is we want to expand. Kopljar is the skipper but was dropped because there are big problems with the knee.
