Selector of the Croatian handball team Zeljko Babic did not hide his emotions after a miraculous victory against Polish (37:24) and the semi-finals of the European Championship.
Croatia was supposed to win against Norway, France, and then had to overcome a host with at least 11 goals difference. Both things are fulfilled and Croatia on Friday expected the semi-final match against Spain in Krakow.
– I say what I feel, this is a miracle of Medjugorje. I thank my friend Jesus, forgive me my weak faith.
It’s nice to win. Who knows what happened to the Poles. We had a good psychological preparation, our defense was good, the goalkeeper defended, we had a good rhythm. It is a sport. I did not believe in a miracle, but I wanted to win. But I would never bet against Jesus and Our Lady of Medjugorje.
When asked how the semis, whether it is going to win, midwives answered:
– I do not know where we play the semi-finals, but we will fight.
