END OF EDITION 2017. “ HANDBALL 4ALL “

When in one place in just 24 hours in front of the eyes of the few, why not be privileged, the handwritten chairs change names such as Dragan Adzic, Xavier Sabate or Bob Hening, when the participants of the game come from all over the world (ESP, SLO, MNE , MKD, SRB, GER, TUN, ISR, ROU, CZE …), when there is little for all events and activities – lectures, trainings, round tables and uninterrupted socializing, and when everything happens here, Serbia, in small Kladovo, there are already for the fourth time and in total for the seventh time, you are dreaming that it is possible to find an explanation in so much love towards us as our favorite sport or how they like to say: ALL FOR HANDBALL – HANDBALL 4ALL!

This was a reason to ask several questions to the designer of the academy, the current coach of Montenegro, the Serbian coach Dragan Djukic:

You’ve been used to us that this is a project that completely moves the boundaries and raises the expectation scale every year. How are you doing all this?

– Firstly, I am proud of how everything turned out, as well as the fact that every guest (speaker, coach, player) has wonderful impressions from Serbia. Honestly, from the very beginnings and first editions of our academy in Kopaonik, this project was based more on love for handball and enthusiasm than on „real“ basics. It would not definitely be possible without the help of wonderful people like D.Ilic, D.Stojanovic and D.Grbic, who were and are the „Handball4All“ team, and they were always so important for the functioning of everything, and so „inconspicuous“ from the side, And the great team of lecturers who made this year: Dragan Adzic (MNE), Slobodan Acimov (SRB), Xavier Sabate (ESP), Mihailo Radosavljevic (SRB) and Bob Hanning (GER), as well as friends of the project of those who from the very beginning Believe in us: the printing press „Grafomed“ from Aleksandrovac, subotica „Unit-Sport“ and „Medisport“ from Belgrade. With immense gratitude to all of them, I must mention the hospitality that the hotel „Aquastar Danube“ offers to us, our base is already for the fourth year in a row and their director, Mr. Mileta Adzic.

It would often make you feel that you have reached a standard that will be difficult to repeat, and you’ve always managed to surprise us with some new, different content. How do you achieve this so different each year and bring such handball sizes to Serbia as they were in previous editions of Staffan Olsson, Carlos Ortega, Dragan Adzic, Mirko Basic … or now Bob Heningi Xavier Sabate, when we know that they are elite handball Coaches, selectors, lecturers, managers, whose terms and plans know for years in advance?

– First of all, I have the happiness and immense pleasure that most of them are sincere friends and that in a similar way we are trying to show that handball has many faces, and that this is different and that we all together want to return (for all) What he gave us. You are so big and so ordinary, so special and so simple people, have built and built their handwritten names with one single recipe – by giving!

To give all of us a means to awaken in the same way another need, and that is the message that we send all together to our students and the entire handball community. From the very beginning, the decision to work in the academy takes place in English, so that all lectures, trainings and presentations become completely public (on our website www.handball4all.org and our YouTube channel), we have shown that the mission of the project „Handball4All“ In the world of handball education and individual approach, and we are proud of how many people we regularly follow and from what kind of handball environments. Of course it can always be better and that is why we are preparing from now on for the next edition to be better and this one has just ended, which was really special in many ways.

What are the plans for the future, what are the next steps and where do you see the Academy in the future?

– Unfortunately, there are still no similar projects in handball, and we are quite lonely in the attempt to upgrade knowledge and specialization. I would remind you that our principle is an indivudal approach and that the number of places at the academy is limited from the very beginning to three in a toy place, more precisely on 18-20 players and 10-12 trainers who follow everything we do. There were suggestions and thoughts to „trim“ by the number of participants, or to have another shift, but we decided that despite the danger of being misunderstood or treated as an „elitist“ event for the narrow circle of people, we are thinking differently. The comment we received from a friend from Hungary who we are really thinking about is that we may start a similar project that would deal with women’s handball, but that requires even more time and resources that we do not really have at the moment. Some plans for the future are that the project comes under the cap of IHF and brings together the top 20 young players from around the world (say 5 in the continental federation) and 12 coaches – selected in a similar way … We will see! But if we do not succeed in total globalization, we may be concentrating on the Balkan countries or the ex YU region in a similar system, although it is sometimes easier to connect incompatible than those who similarly or the same speak, think, live … The fact is that „Handball4All“ is a place where In one place you can see trainers and players from around the world from USA to Japan and from Denmark to Iran, it’s just what motivates us to explore and last. Concluded Dragan Djukic.
